Zattoo celebrates anniversary and a year of growth

Zattoo AG, one of Europe’s leading TV and streaming providers, looks back on a successful year marked by new content and product innovations. 2025 was defined by close collaboration with partners, strong cooperations, and numerous enhancements for users.

In a constantly evolving market, Zattoo once again demonstrated that it is a reliable technology partner—for operators, ISPs, and entertainment providers, as well as a preferred platform for anyone seeking a first-class TV and streaming experience.

The year 2025 held special significance for Zattoo: the company celebrated its 20th anniversary. What began in 2006 with the first live stream of the FIFA World Cup has grown into one of Europe’s leading and most innovative TV and streaming platforms. This milestone was celebrated together with customers and partners at ANGA COM in Cologne in June, and later with the entire team at the annual company event in November. Twenty years is almost a small eternity in the streaming era—but it also shows what is possible when innovation, simplicity, and long-term partnership are not just buzzwords, but part of a company’s DNA.

Key European partnerships and the acquisition of Green Streams

At the start of the year, Switzerland’s largest online retailer, Digitec Galaxus, announced the launch of its own TV subscription service operated by Zattoo. Cable Noord in the Netherlands, Waoo in Denmark, and WWZ, also in Switzerland, followed during the year with Zattoo-managed TV offerings. This once again underlines that flexible, modular “TV & Video as a Service” solutions are becoming increasingly indispensable for established brands and ambitious newcomers alike. With the acquisition of Green Streams in May, Zattoo aims to be recognized as the most operator-centric TV platform in Europe. This move strengthens Zattoo’s position as a leading TV platform provider. By integrating one of the most advanced middleware platforms, the company significantly accelerates its technological development and opens up new growth opportunities.

Quality that delivers – 1&1 once again rated “very good”

Another strong endorsement: Zattoo customer 1&1 received a “very good” rating for the third year in a row. In August, both companies extended their long-standing partnership and reaffirmed their focus on quality—now supported by more than 155 channels and over 70 pay-TV options. This result is no coincidence, but the outcome of a collaboration clearly aligned around shared goals.

Product innovation for maximum flexibility

At IBC in September, Zattoo introduced its Media Integration Platform (MIP)—an evolution that gives operators greater freedom in designing and delivering their TV products and is now fully integrated into the new modular product portfolio for business customers. Faster time-to-market, expanded frontend options, and a more strongly modularized workflow provide exactly the flexibility providers need to make increasingly complex ecosystems between content and delivery easier to use.

A modular portfolio for the future of television // Zattoo’s new modular portfolio

Towards the end of the year, Zattoo unveiled its new modular TV and streaming portfolio—an important step toward a fully composable, ecosystem-friendly architecture. Built on the core modules Zattoo Ingest, Stream, Orchestrate, as well as a fully managed end-to-end offering, the new portfolio gives operators, ISPs, and OTT providers a clearer and more flexible path to developing and scaling modern streaming products.

Strong marketing partnerships

In advertising, Zattoo gained two high-profile new partners in Switzerland this year through extensive cooperations with Paramount Advertising International and Warner Bros. Discovery. By taking over the marketing of premium content from HBO Max and Paramount+, Zattoo further strengthens its position as a leading CTV marketer. Advertisers and agencies benefit from the maximization and aggregation of touchpoints along the end consumer’s video journey. This allows the advantages of CTV to fully come into play—while retaining the classic strengths of linear television.

Outstanding content for users

Zattoo customers have enjoyed even more premium content this year. Landmark partnerships were concluded with ARD and ZDF, linking the ARD Mediathek and the ZDF streaming portal directly to Zattoo via app-to-app integration, enabling a seamless and highly convenient user experience. In addition, a wide range of new channels launched on Zattoo this year, including “Ladykracher,” “Stromberg,” “Pastewka,” “Dyn Sport Mix,” “NatureTime,” “Telenovela ZDF,” “Kultkrimi,” “Spooks,” “The Good Wife,” and many more.
